My art I had hanging up beside my stove was starting to look a bit dated and sad, so it was time for an upgrade! I brought these fruit inspired plaques from my previous home, it was time for them to retire.
I have seen a lot of chunky letter wall art on Pinterest lately, I really liked the look of them. So imagine my delight when on one of my trips to the Wal-Mart craft section, I spotted theses large craft letters. They were the perfect size for the spot. I could have done a happy dance in the isle, but I refrained as to not scare my fellow shoppers!
Out came the primer and yellow spray paint! I wanted to give them a distressed look. I used a foam sanding block first, but that didn’t take enough of the paint off for the look I wanted. Then I used the power hand sander with 100 grit sand paper. Perfect!
I used 3M Command strips to attach the letters to the wall. Voila, easy peasy!
