Laundry Room Update Mood Board

When we first bought our house, it was in desperate need of some TLC. I gave everything a quick coat of paint to make it livable. Because we were putting on a full addition and not something I thought I would ever do or was prepared for, I didn’t put much thought in to the over all feeling of the house. Now that we have lived here a while and finished most of the major renovations, I’m going though each room making it me. My plan is to start on one end of the house moving room by room to the other. My Laundry Room is first on the list. Even though its only been a few years since it had been painted, it was still looking a bit tired. I created this Mood Board as my inspiration for my Laundry Room Update. The muted pops of color and beachy whimsy are defiantly making me smile.

I found these cute little bowls from Anthropologie, I think they will make for some stylish organization, catchalls for emptying pockets and adding some pops of color.

I’m really loving pops of yellow lately, this bin from Crate and Barrel will also be used for added storage and interest.

Anything with a beachy vibe just speaks to me, why not add some whimsy with some fun accesories?

I started using Benjamin Moore Paint in my house in the addition, on the recommendation of a painter friend of ours. I thought paint was paint, boy was I wrong! I just love the way it preforms and covers. I don’t love painting, but having the perfect color defiantly makes the work worth while. Im going with grey owl OC-52 in this room, it’s the right amount of warm and cool. Not too light, not too dark, it’s a great neutral.

For my cupboards I already painted them with a white trim paint from Rona, since they are already done I’m going to leave them as is. I’m also going to use some reclaimed weathered wood for the counter tops, that was under our old siding. Hopefully I can get everything finished soon. I will keep you posted!
